Group member 2013-2015
Internship

My internship focused on co-evolutionary relationships between reptiles and their parasites of the Canary Islands. I am mainly interested in phylogenetics, evolution and ecology.

Ribeiro, Mariana
Group member 2013-2014
Master degree

I did my graduation in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto between 2009-2012. For my master thesis, I studdied the dynamic of a hybrid zone in order to better understand how reproductive barriers and selection enhance and maintain the divergence between two species of wall lizards (Podarcis bocagei and Podarcis carbonelli). Further, the results obtained will provide insights to the evolutionary mechanisms involved in the process of speciation with gene flow in the model system of Iberian and North African Podarcis and in biological diversification in general.
Supervisors: Catarina Pinho, Antigoni Kaliontzopoulou and Miguel A Carretero

Master degree

During my master thesis I studied the phylogeny of the Chalcides complex. My interests include understending the relationships between species in the complex and having a better understanding of how they relate with each other and their habitat.
Former Supervisors: D James Harris and Angelica Crottini

My internship was focused on parasites distribution in populations of selected Morocco lizards. My interests are evolution, biogeographic patterns, phylogenetic analyses and ecological relationships. I am currently in Brazil where I am finishing my bachelor.
